The Studio is in a tranquil oasis in North Worcestershire. There is a fully–equipped drawing studio and stone yard and an inspirational garden with abundant wildlife
Stone carving in the ethos of a mediaeval stone yard can reveal physical, social and creative powers that many people are unaware they possess. Two-day residential courses are held in Spring and Summer in the artist's studio in North Worcestershire, two hours' drive from London within a few miles of Midlands' motorway junctions and Birmingham Airport.
The aim is to release the individual creativity of busy people whose lives are too hectic to know how to set about making a work of art or to attend on-going classes. Participants on the course will be taken through the preparation of a working drawing and learn a direct approach to stone carving. Tools are simple and easy to use – carving stone is a matter of technique not force.
At the end of the weekend they will have carved a piece and know enough to do more. Stone is a patient medium; it can be left and returned to as time permits. Numbers on the courses are limited; single days can sometimes be arranged. All materials and equipment are provided; the private accommodation is comfortable and food is home-cooked
